Homeoblock/Palate expanders (detachables) v MSE/MARPE (screwed)

So many of us are situated in cucked countries with next to no experience for MSE in late puberty early adulthood.

Here is a discussion were this fellow saw results from a detachable - specifically homeoblock.


I was pretty close to just getting my alignment having given up on finding an Orthodontist willing to provide MSE ... and "knowing" that detachables don't work on adults (I am 20 for reference) were the suture needs to be split.

But the dude in the video above claims improvements (literal bone mass) from a night-only expander that supposedly works on jaw/mandible too (https://www.smlglobal.com/homeoblock-appliance).

How may these compare to the https://www.bracesshop.com/en/expanders/ , and will detachables work with facepulling for those of us looking for that sweet CCW rotation.

Can some high-iq cell please do a complete thread - especially given that 80% of this is improved facial bones from mewing(Maxilla expansion)/Facepulling (Forward growth). @hairyballscel

detachables expansion is tooth born but theoretically can induce some bone growth if your an adult but the results will be nowhere near what mse will provide.

Ok I just wanna mention these homeocock devices are pulling your teeth to get a suture split and I’m not even sure how this guy got a suture split from it he looks 50.
If you are 16+ maybe even younger, I suggest MSE 10000000%, because you can expand A LOT more and it’s A LOT more efficient and faster and it’s mostly, if not entirely skeletal changes and not gonna flare out your teeth or tip them.
Tooth borne appliances will work if you are an early teen, but still very little skeletal expansion compared to dental.
Even with a facemask, tooth borne appliances might end up flaring out your teeth if you aren’t young and it’s always better to use bone as an anchorage rather than teeth.

This sums up my thinking too. But I guess a benefit to "slower" expansion is that the mandible is better at following suit, leading to less miss-alignment throughout treatment.

But as the fellow in the video, apparently there are results to harness for those, for whom MSE is not avaliable.

The premise is that the suture is fused by age 16 -- hence expansion can take place, not that they will "open" it.
