How can I convince my doctor to let me get a palate expander?

I’m 15 and I think a MSE would help me a lot, I went to the doctor today and I mentioned the symptoms of sleep apnea and breathing problems however she thought it was allergies and is making me get a blood test. What are some ways I could convince her to let me get one, and maybe get it insured? She said she doesn’t think it’s sleep apnea but what else can I say?

My retarded ortho almost believed me and if it was before the braces he would've gave me a palate expander if i kept yapping, just complain and they will give you it probably

What is your inter molar distance? Because if you don’t need MSE there is no point in getting it , there are hardly any aesthetic benefits to it unless you get lucky, since you can’t really control the expansion.

If you have 8 tooth smile or more , and can fit your tongue on the roof of your mouth , with a imd of around 38 mm it is not needed.

In fact it’s a risk, since asymmetrical expansion is very likely.

Do the allergy test, it's still useful. If the ortho doesn't wanna give you a palate expander go to another one who will. Even my dipshit 5k people hometown had two orthos and even more a town over. Orthos are looksmaxxing medics and some know it. Mine ascended my jaw and I'm forever greatful

from the allergy test i also found i was severely iron deficient so i just a couple days ago got an iron transfusion, hopefully it will improve my eyebags as they are a problem for me. thank u tho ill keep trying new orthos

Bite a piece of cardstock paper (the paper used for business cards)

You will then get an outline of a your bite, identify the molar and measure between the edges of them.

You can also just ask someone to do it for you.

Check for tongue tie as well , open your mouth as wide as u can and if you can touch the roof of your mouth with the tip of your tongue you don’t have a tongue tie

Just means you can’t rest your tongue properly on your palate.

I would check your inter molar distance again since a tongue tie and a narrow palate are linked quite heavily.

But if you don’t have a narrow palate you can just get the tongue tie cut.

My imd is correct idk it isn’t a severe tongue tie by the looks of it and I dont have any actual symptoms of a narrow palate
