how do I convince my parents to let me keep long hair

I have long hair and it is such a halo for me and my head shape and everyone I know tells me I look much better with it. However my parents are traditional and think it looks un-kept and dirty and want me to cut it down(it does not.) I have a big forehead and wearing caps everywhere cant be an option forever so what can I do to keep it.
I bped my mum ages ago and that lasted a bit but should i just try that again or are there more methods
