Okay, so here’s the situation: I’m talking to someone who’s 5’9”, and I’ve been feeling pretty self conscious about my height. I’m 5’5” without shoes, and every time we hang out, I can’t help but feel like it’s noticeable. I’ve never really taken my shoes off around her because I’m worried she’ll notice just how much shorter I am, and to be honest, it’s starting to mess with my confidence. The shoes I wear actually have height boosters in them, so I’ve been relying on that to not feel so short, but it’s getting harder to keep up the act.
I know it sounds a bit silly, but I’ve been obsessing over this. I’ve been wondering if there’s anything I can do to improve my height, at least a little bit, so I don’t feel so out of place. I know height isn’t everything, but when she’s taller than me, especially when we’re standing next to each other or in pictures, it’s hard not to feel insecure.
Is there any way I can actually grow taller, even just an inch or two? I’d love to reach 5’8” or more (I know that sounds crazy, but I’m really hoping for it). I’ve heard about stretches, posture exercises, supplements, and even posture hacks, but I’m not sure if any of that stuff actually works or if it’s just wishful thinking. I don’t want to keep feeling self conscious, especially since we’re still in the early stages of getting to know each other.
If anyone has any advice serious or otherwise I’m open to anything! I just want to feel more confident about my height and not be so worried every time we’re together.
