How can I stop acting like a clown?

I feel like no one takes me serious. The people like me and I have friends and shit but it feels like they only like me because I make them laugh. No one ever talks to me about serious shit. Girls don't talk to me at all, they sometimes laugh about my jokes when we are in a group but they never talk to me alone. How can I go from the class clown to the cool guy that girls like to hang out with?
