Can sticking out ears make ur face look bigger/smaller

Do larger ears affect fwhr? As in giving the illusion of making it seem wider/narrower.

I was thinking exactly this, i have large ears myself that stick out a bit. I feel like it makes ur head look narrower. Compared to when i cover my ears with my hand. My head looks wider/ facial features stand out
