So I have finished my 5 week cut. I went from 129.0 lbs @15% BF to 125.6 lbs @10% BF. Despite my scale saying I only lost 4 lbs, my bodyfat calipers tell a different story, that I am 10% bodyfat. Based on my initial weight and bodyfat percentage, I would have to have gotten to around 122lbs in order to be 10%, but I am 10% at 125. Another weird thing was my pattern of weight loss.
Initial: 129.0
1 week: 127.6
2 weeks: 125.8
3 weeks: 124.0
4 weeks: 125.6
5 weeks 125.6
I was losing weight relatively fast for the first half, but then I gained and maintained a bit.
I was perhaps thinking that this could be a change in my body composition, I have been eating protein and working out, while in a caloric deficit. Perhaps I could have gained a little lean mass. I noticed that my abs are more visible and my biceps have veins. I know I was in a deficit as I lost weight during the first half of the cut,, and have eaten roughly the same types and amounts of food every week, occasionally every 2 weeks I would have a cheat day where I pigged out, although I only had like 2 or 3 days where I did that.
I dont know what to make of the discrepancy between my scale and my bodyfat calipers. Do any of yall have any hypotheses about why this is the case?
