How do I avoid the dreaded face bloat when gymmaxxing?

Do you just have to go really slow with the bulking, not overdoing protein and not eating too much in general?

Or is there something else I’m missing? Is there no way to bulk up fast without fucking up my face?

Not a diet expert but my understanding is that bloating comes down to salt and carbs. Both hold on to and attract water. Both are major components of food. You need salt and (pretty much) need carbs, just gotta try and lower your intake of them while bulking compared to your normal diet.

That's not super easy since protein and fat fill you quickly and makes getting in calories hard. Salt is fucking EVERYWHERE.

I've also heard that drinking a lot of water (3-4 litres a day) will help - I don't understand the science of it though. Dandelion root is also a diuretic that could help but long term health effects aren't known.

I agree it’s great for body aesthetics. Just wasnt sure if it bloats face

Why do people create a false dichotomy between going to the gym and getting bloated? It’s literally just how much food you eat.

Lean tf down to 10%. You'll gain alot of muscle especially if you're skinny fat.

just make sure you eat alot of protein
don't fall for the low carb meme you'll need alot of energy
do some cardio too if you want

-A sauna, shower like a mop soaked in sweat. Sweating also helps reduce swelling.
-Leave the snacks (chips, cookies, bread, ice creams, etc.), fast food. In general, processed and junk food full of sugars and sodium.
-But just as you can check the macros, you can check the sodium content by reading the package or using myfitnesspal. It's also a fun fact that a teaspoon of salt (sodium chloride) is 5 g, even if it's not pure sodium, it's good to say it's 5 g sodium.
-Go for a walk every day after a large meal (10 minutes). It also helps digestion. Try it at least 1-2 meals
