But the price for human connection is initial embarrassment and pain, if you're scared of the consequences of interaction you will be lonely FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

I'm sure you don't want that. So just try and fail, have awkward conversations, talk to the girl who's next to you, try and chat up the cashier. It's going to be awkward, it's going to hurt, you're probably going to get some weird looks or people just straight up ignoring you. But it's all worth it.
