How do i convince my dentist or orthodontist to get me a consultation for a expander

Ive been longing for the expander for months now. Should i just tell them i have trouble chewing, breathing or i have a narrow palate to get me one?

ask if you would need one, even for aesthetics purposes, unless it would fuck you up, they should accept since its money for them
