How do I fix my narrow palette (I can tell because I have crooked teeth). Will thumb pulling work

Never really noticed it cus I was small but as I grew older, I noticed that my crooked teeth that I always had were a byprod of a narrow palette. Now It makes me so insecure cus it makes my smile look so ugly. Is there any fix for this, would thumbulling or stram(hard mewing) work. If anyone has done them before then let me know if it's useful or useless. My brother has recommended going to an orthodontist and getting a palette expander which has a fancy name that I forgot. But I'm not tryna do a surgery cus it's too expensive and I don't want metal in my teeth 24/7

Now do you think using your thumb will be effective when you can’t do it all the time, less symmetry. And even if it did work you would have to do it for years realistically while looking like a retard
