im 14. for my entire life, i knew there is something wrong with me. when i was younger, i tried to make friends but couldnt, when i spoke to people, they made fun of me and i never understood why. i was always the "weird kid", teachers always made it easier for me, they were more caucious and reasurring when speaking to me, and they generally overlooked stuff like earbuds when others couldnt wear them (stuff like that). i personally know 2 people with asperger's syndrome, and i get along with them really well, i like talking to them more than normal people from my class. i asked my parents, could i go to a psychologist to get me checked out because i genuinely think there is something wrong with me but they just said that its a waste of money and that i should get over it.
