I'm trying to work on my portfolio, but I can never come up with any actually intriguing projects.
Any ideas? I'm mainly talking about python, but I need practice in c++, rust, etc.

If you're going to ask someone else why not just ask an LLM?

They give the blandest answers. "Make a calculator app", "Make an AI that predicts stock market changes", etc.
I want the actual methodology of creating an idea. AI might be able to answer, but I'd rather a human answer.

I'm sure there's something you're curious about, you should start there

Back when I had to make a portfolio for high school, my projects were always about solving small problems in my life
Eg: my dog always snuck into the kitchen and ate crumbs on the floor, so I made an app that tracked his location in the house using his collar

pretty shit explanation looking back 😹

I always want to do more shit with arduinos, but I'm mainly focused on python rn, and c++ is a nightmare to learn.
But I get what you're trying to say, solve problems in your life.
