Just grow it out, use ties, clips, other hair accessories to tie it up. I wear mine tied up 99% of the time and my longest hairs are down to my lumbar spine now, very rarely do I wear it loose, you have the option to do whatever you want with it whenever you want to anyway. Only annoying thing is it takes longer to shower, longer to dry(use a blow dryer for faster drying) and it needs to be combed through and detangled regularly and after shower.

Oh yeah you can wear it tight and snugly tied, almost imitating having a short hairstyle, wear it loose or do tons of different buns, tied up, ponytails, using clips etc and do tons of flamboyant/prettyboy stuff with it, only your imagination and balls and hair properties limits you really lol.

Also if you got really coarse and dense hair ie blessed hair genetics wise then it is almost a waste to not grow it out. I wasted most of my life having short hair when I was built for having long hair lol. At least maybe try it before the norwood reaper comes and takes it from you(or use fin/dut + minoxidil pre-emptively).
