I don't understand the mirror thing. Look at random objects in the mirror: coffee mug, phone, calculator, whatever, and it looks like the real object in the mirror. Yet your face somehow looks different in the mirror?

There are these things that are called true mirrors, pretty sure they cost like 200 bucks or more, that's the only way to get something 100% accurate to how you look.

it looks different because its inverted, so you cant see your asymmetries, but the proportions still hold true, its just your face inverted boyo

Why you can't see asymmetries? Asymmetric objects don't look asymmetric in the mirror?

i mean, you can, but its harder, you have seen yourself in the mirror so many times, your brain just kinda ignores them

I don't care about ratios, I don't know my ratios. I look in the mirror and say that I look damn good.

A mirror is fairly accurate. Yes, it is a flipped version of yourself, but there is no lens distortion involved and unless you are severely asymmetrical, a mirror comes pretty close in emulating how others see you irl.

Neither. The mirror shows you what you wanna see. The phone, microcomputer, mimics what it thinks you look like. When you talk on the phone, that other person that's talking, the voice, its not his/her's. Its a computer mimicking it. And even how others see us is not what we truly look like. They too are seeing what they wanna see. Ugh.

Mirror is how you look like. Ask someone you know to stand in front of a mirror and look at them, then look at them irl. You wouldn't see a single difference.

I can’t stop staring at myself whenever I see a mirror. Be it at home, at a clothing store or when going to the bathroom while at a bar or something. If there is no mirror around I take out my phone and spectate my self in the front face camera of my Iphone (arm extended 1 meter for minimal lens distortion of course) and the take a few selfies in different poses and camera angles. I then proceede to stare and admire the pictures a few minutes each. I repeat this process every 15 minutes or so.

everytime i go outside i cant stop looking at reflections, car windows, store fronts, anything that reflects, it is quite funny if you think about it

Even if you are asymmetric, what about if you cover half of your face when you look in the mirror? Wouldn't you see the uncovered side like others see it IRL?

Mirror is the closest thing. The realest is true mirror.

Exposure effect is a thing , my realtives seem kinda off when i look them in the mirror , because im not used to see them in the flipped image of themselves....

basically your brain doesn't want you to rope so it tries it's hardest to get you focus more on the good parts of your face and get used to it.
But once you flip the mirror your brain can't help you cope anymore

I, like I guess many others, look slimmer in the mirror than in photos I assume that if a mirror is closer to reality in other aspects too than cameras it's closer to reality in this aspect too, i.e., cameras make us look a bit more fat? @Gargantuan

Niggas keep talking about lateral inversion but it's a familiarity thing and does not affect your attractiveness in any way

colour correction and camera quality varies on the phone

Does not affect attractiviness? So if in the mirror I'm x / 10 my real-life rating is too x / 10 (and not x minus something)?
