my ascension guide: the biggest thing i realized is that there wasn’t one thing that made me ascend. it was stacking a bunch of improvements together over a long period of time. people spend way too much time looking for a magic fix when in reality almost every part of your appearance can be improved if you’re consistent enough. the first thing i did was lose weight. i started lifting consistently and doing cardio every day. getting lean was by far the highest roi change because it let my facial structure show instead of having it hidden by body fat. after that i started focusing on facial bloating. i drank coconut water every day because of the potassium and started paying a lot more attention to my sodium intake. i wasn’t trying to completely avoid sodium, i just stopped eating a bunch of processed food every day. after a while my face looked noticeably less puffy. i also completely changed my diet. i cut out added sugars and only ate two meals a day. it made staying lean a lot easier and i felt less bloated overall. whether that was because of the diet itself or just eating cleaner in general, i don’t really care because it worked.
around this time i started using nicotine. i’m not telling anyone to start using it, but for me it made eating a lot less appealing and keeping myself in a calorie deficit became effortless. that helped me lose even more weight and keep my face lean year round.
skin was another thing that made a massive difference. i went on doxycycline for my acne and eventually started using the highest strength tretinoin. after sticking with both consistently my skin became almost completely clear. having clear skin changes your appearance way more than most people think. after my skin improved i started paying attention to smaller details. i dyed my eyebrows darker once a week because mine were naturally pretty light and it gave my eye area a lot more contrast. i also used a dermaroller along with topical minoxidil and rosemary oil on my eyebrows to make them look thicker over time. the last thing i added was bb cream. i wear a small amount every day because it evens out my skin tone and gets rid of a lot of the redness and discoloration that was still there even after my acne cleared. looking back, none of these things by themselves would have completely changed how i looked. if i had only lost weight but still had terrible skin, i wouldn’t have gotten the same result. if i only fixed my skin but stayed overweight, same thing. every improvement built on the last one until everything started coming together. i think a lot of people underestimate how much your appearance can change when you consistently fix every weak point instead of obsessing over things you can’t control. genetics obviously matter, but most people aren’t even close to their genetic potential because they never actually optimize the variables that are under their control.
