There's no scientific proof to it, this is just how I fixed my damaged hair. So my hair like a day or two ago was disgustingly damaged, I have curly hair btw but it was also really long like really long. So I cut my hair really short and now it looks healthy again, also ur hair can look damaged if u don't style it correctly. Also I would recommend the Lance method which I'm about to attach
