When my uncle accidentally shot himself or my grand parents died from both sides I just felt empty for a couple of days

I lost my dad at three and don’t even remember his death but I think abt him everyday
Sometimes I’ll see his face in my brother and feel like he lives through him lol

How do you usually cope with things? I can't imagine myself tearing up and crying even if my parents died, not because I don't love them; I love them as much as one can, but because I'm not an expressive person like that.

The closest I got was losing a family member which I interacted with once every month or two, so not a super close one, but still regular enough for me to miss them. I felt empty for a day, then moved on, when I think about them I still feel a bit empty, as if somethings missing in my chest, but that's about it.

my paternal grandfather died when I was visiting my dad's side of family in new Zealand when I was 7. I didn't really speak to him much because I was a really shy and quiet kid, so I didn't build much emotional attachment. when he died though, I just remember feeling really indifferent and numb about it.
