Recession doesn’t affect the size or length of the mandible, just the position. The mandible will recess and move back into your airway and the gonial angle will increase, but the actual size of the mandible doesn’t change

Why measure till the middle point instead of till the chin? The chin is part of the mandibular body

My chin is very small, narrow and quite recessed, but the mandible itself is quite short too. My ramus isn't terrible, but it's not straight giving it a more feminine look. I have a recessed lower third, barely a few cm of jaw projection above my hyoid bone.
