how many sets per muscle group per week?

I train at high intensity (failure on every set) and my split is:
day 1: chest/back
day 2: shoulders/arms
day 3: legs
day4: rest
then repeat;
I've heard that low volume is key at high intensity but I was wondering how many specific sets I need to be doing; I've heard that 10-20 sets per week is optimal, but from others ive heard that that range is too high to recover from. plz help
 
you should be doing as many sets as you can fully recover from by the next session
 
if you are going to failure on each set than prolly like 8
