How reliable are online facial analyses compared to an in-person consultation with an orthodontist or a maxillofacial surgeon?

Asking this because some people online say things like:
You need x surgery or x orthodontic procedure, and I don´t think that I need cirugy or orthodontics as I already had an orthodontic procedure by a proffesional:unsure:
This is just an example.
I have also seen people saying that they need a bimax while the professionals tell them that they don´t need it.

online analysis can give you an idea, but its far from a real diagnosis. A photo can make someone look recessed because of lens distortion, angle, or lighting, while an orthodontist can check your actual bite, jaw position and X rays. For example, some people online get told they need bimax, but a professional would say their structure is fine and the issue is just soft tissue or fat distribution.
