Retatrutide
Retatrutide is a novel triple agonist targeting the receptors of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1), gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP), and glucagon (PubMed).
Reta interacts with the reward pathways in the brain, thats how it creates less food noise, and in turn makes you eat less. The thing however is in some cases, such as mine, reta can induce anhedonia. Anhedonia is the inability to experience pleasure or joy. The effect at which anhedonia can affect someone while on reta varies much differently from person to person and can be completely unnoticeable in day-to-day life. The reward pathways affected of reta are the same ones responsible for alcohol, impulsive behaviors, motivation, and food cravings. Thats why some people lose interest in things they used to crave- hence the effect of anhedonia.
My experience
I started my reta usage around october 2025, while with my partner of 8 months. While on reta, i faced common side effects such as nausea, stomach aches, and dizziness. I went from a 16% bf to now around 11-12%. Over the course of my usage i felt to care less and less about our relationship and i essentially “fell out of love”. Of course reta isnt the only contributor to what happened, but it 100% created an issue for me.
Remarks
This is my first serious thread, and these are just my experiences and knowledge on the topic so if i said something wrong please correct me.
