How tf do I take HCTZ

I've taken 2 doses on two different days of hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg and it has done jack shit. Is there some sort of protocol that I'm supposed to follow because I am not debloated whatsoever. It barely made me urinate all day and the only thing I noticed was my abs were slightly more visible. Am I supposed to follow a protocol or should I just double or triple dose.
