Welcome to Sacul's guide of SOCIALMAXXING
Introduction:
We are all actively trying to improve our PSL to get better micro interactions and mog. However, what is frequently overlooked is the social aspect of life. You can be a htn and get sociallymogged by a mtn cause of your NDness. Socialmaxxing is important in school for popularity, and also important once we start having jobs so that we can maxx out our connections etc.
Routines/Methods:
First, start a regiment and goal to approach random people weekly that you completely do not know. It can be from the mall, at school, campus events etc. (my goal is 3 a week). Next, you should aim to attend at least 1 social meetup per week, which can be from someone inviting you, or going out and actively partcipating in an event. After everyday, spend around 5 minutes writing down on your phone and reflecting on the best conversations you had that day.
The methods above help lower your inhibition, which is extremely helpful for any future social interactions that you need to pass through. Don't skip the above method just cause you think its cope or that it takes too much work.
Secondly, record yourself through the back camera of your phone. Pick a random object to talk about, turn over your phone (make sure its the back camera) and just start talking to it for around 5 minutes. Then, view back the video (its gonna be cringe at first but you will get used to it) and see if theres any improvements to make. Make sure you aren't using any filler words and speak in proper language. If you feel that your accent/voice sucks look up a thread on how to fix it.
Thirdly, buy books/read them online for free about social interactions. Books that i would recommend are "How to win friends and influence people", and any other youtube tutorials talking about charisma.
Techniques you can use to break up any awkward situation.
1. Observation + genuine question. Think of questions you geuineinly are curious of the person. Eg "I noticed ______, how does it______"
2. If you are quiet, make the quiet tell a story. Don't be passively quiet, be actively quiet by maybe showing some expressions now and then/ pretend your thinking of something etc.
3.Micro-structure Setup → Conflict → Resolution → Punchline
Keep anecdotes concise (30–45 sec max) , make sure that you ask about them more than you talk about yourself.
Practice in low-pressure settings first
4. Non talking stuff
eye contact: 50–70% of conversation, avoid staring
Gestures: Use hand motions to emphasize points, not fidget
Posture: Open chest, relaxed shoulders
the fourth point you might think its water, but yall aren't doing it, so make sure everytime you are having a conversation you do these three things.
5. networking
identify nodes
give value first (however there was a study done that if you want to get close to a person, you can ask them to do a small favour to you and you will "break the ice" between both of you and yall would be closer)
track interactions on notepad apps
Good luck bhais in your heavilyoverlooked social maxxing journey and I wish for your ascension.
