How To Be a Winner
A response to
Inspired by The Art of War;
a book that teaches the weak to win
1. Stay alive
A dead person can't fight.
Thus, the most important thing for a warrior is to stay alive.
2. Don't fight
If you fight, there's a chance that you'll die.
If you're dead, you can't fight.
3. Avoid fights
If there's a chance that you'll die, you'll die eventually.
The only sure way to stay undefeated is by avoiding fights.
The greatest fighter can sprain his ankle during a fight against a weaker man and die.
The greatest teams in football lose the championship to much weaker opponents by being unlucky.
4. Winning the battle =/= Winning the war
The war is never decided on who has won the most battles.
You can lose most of the battles and win the war.
You can win most of the battles and lose the war.
The losers focus on winning the battles.
The winners focus on winning the war.
They are not the same thing.
5. Hide your strengths
If you can fight, don't let the opponent know you can fight.
If your opponents know you can fight, they will come prepared.
6. Mislead the enemy
If you can't wrestle, make your opponents think wrestling is your strength.
This will make your opponents avoid wrestling against you.
7. Surprise the enemy
You can't surprise the opponent who is well-prepared.
If you can fight, make your opponent believe you can't fight.
This will make them overconfident to fight against you.
8. The victory is obtained by staying alive
To win the war is to stay alive longer than your opponents.
Thus, a successful warrior stays alive by not fighting and avoiding fights (see 1, 2, and 3).
