How to beardmax if your beard is patchy?

How do you get a beard to connect? I'm only 18 but damn it's patchy and filling in on the cheeks but it's slow af. I have a moustache / neckbeard, sideburns. But the cheek area is weak af. And it's all not entirely connected

Wasn't peppermint oil also pretty effective?

IIRC there was a study on rats that found peppermint oil to be just as effective if not more effective than minox on hair.

Then again, i have only used minox, so I have no clue.
