In China, they usually "transfer" curses to other objects - dolls, toys, small statues, etc. You take a small object, rub it to your body, say a few words to move the curse from you into the object, then you have to convince someone else to take the object, so the curse is now on him - you can simply leave the object in a public place and someone will probably pick it up...
Many Chinese however are very suspicious about random unknown objects, because they might be cursed, if you want to prank a Chinaman, you can leave a small toy or doll for example on his desk, or in front of his door and he will really freak out...
