they have rigid expectations and demand total obedience despite deserving neither

im 19 and seriously considering having surgery. nothing major, just a little rhinoplasty, but im 99% sure the fallout from my family is gonna be insane and possibly unbearable

they already think im a disappointment and gay and they yell at me sometimes

i still live at home but my surgery will be payed for entirely by me. should i not tell them? they’re gonna find out exentually. should i move out and live on campus?

yeah living with them is sometimes annoying. i really don’t like being around them and try to get away from them because they want to control every aspect of my life

i might just apply to go live on campus. it’s not far from my house but if it gives me a level of independence and security than so be it

you gotta not give a shit my guy, you're 19, your parents should not be a weight on your shoulders buddy. Do what you want, and bear with it, you shouldnt care what they think, as long as YOU are happy with it

My parents are also a looksmin and won’t even let me wear lifts and even have goes at me for shaving or wearing cologne (never stopped me from it, just told me off) saying i was doing it “for girls” (no shit)

I had to get my friends to help me sneak out to go on dates with my ex, because theyd kill me if they found out I had a gf and would constantly track where I went.
