I've tried pills, and it worked, but I can't consume them now because it gave me side effects.

High quality sleep is life changing, and I need that.

wdym fix sleep? like ur schedule or falling asleep fast?
 
for schedule u just need to get like 2 hrs sleep one day and then fall asleep and wake up ur desired time next day. it will be aids for a bit but it's worth. for falling asleep fast, i just tire my body with gym and cardio and it seems to work fine for me. also avoid using blue light devices 30 mins before sleep and make sure temp is kinda cold as it helps too.

Shift your core minimum body temperature by bright light therapy, meal timing, cold shower in the morning and hot shower before bed.

practise good sleep hygiene, pharmacology is such a temporary fix

You have to take melatonin 5 hours before your natural sleep time or DLMO. so 9-10 before core minimum body temperature.

Should my room be cold? Where I'm at is summer so it's hot asf. My bed feels like it's on fire

Most important thing know when is your core minimum body temp or Tmin, by using CORE GREENTEG or manual thermometer on rectal yeah rectal hourly

get sunlight upon naturally waking up time for few hours. Assuming your core minimum body temperature is 3 hours before your natural wake up time.

Eat breakfast

Take cold shower to force your core body temperature to increase due to vasoconstriction

Hot sauna/hot bath before bed

Melatonin 5 hours before natural bedtime which is 5 hours before Tmin

Sleep in cold bedroom preferbly with socks and gloves to accentuate your vasodilation for lowering core body temperature
