Hi everyone, I'm a freshman in highschool. Don't let my age deter you though, I take Facial Aesthetics 101 course and I know a huge amount on how to build muscle.
What is Muscle?
Muscle is the soft tissue in our bodies that allows for the movement through contraction. Most men are around 38-42% of muscle on average.
The Process of Muscle Building
Hypertrophy process
How to simulate hypertrophy
What is the Perfect Amount of Rest Days?
If you're trying to build muscle, try to achieve 4-5 days of 1 hour long exercise. Wait 48 hours to work the same muscle group again. Build the perfect split for what you want to achieve.
The Actual Muscles
Arms
All of the arm muscles can be classified into two primary regions
The Anterior Flexor includes the muscles Biceps Brachii (Short and Long Head), the Brachialis, and the Coracobrachialis
I will attach a video on how to hit these muscle groups. Click here
What is Muscle?
Muscle is the soft tissue in our bodies that allows for the movement through contraction. Most men are around 38-42% of muscle on average.
The Process of Muscle Building
Hypertrophy process
- Microtears- resistance causes microscopic tears in our muscle fibers
- Repair and Growth- the body repairs these tears by producing new muscle proteins and the muscle cells increase in size
- Increased Protein Synthesis- hormones, testosterone and growth hormone, stimulate protein synthesis, leading to muscle growth
- Metabolic Stress- the body produces metabolic byproducts, lactate, which promotes muscle growth
How to simulate hypertrophy
- Progressive overload- increase the weight, increase the reps, improve your form, and decrease rest time
- eat enough calories and protein (surplus if bulking, deficit if cutting)
- Allow for proper rest and recovery
