I had worse acne than you, way worse. I regret not going on accutane earlier, now I’m just scarred up. The good news is that I can eat pretty much anything now. Some people say high doses of vitamin A will cause growth plates to close, but IMO being a pizzaface with permanent scarring is not worth the natural 1-2 inch height gain you MIGHT get. Most people with cystic acne get it late puberty, and by then you are almost done growing anyway. Believe me, having a scarred up face with tons of pick marks, holes, and rough skin is one of the biggest looksminns you can have, not the 1-2" POTENTIAL height you MAY get.
However, I disagree with taking antibiotics. Especially doxycycline, I was on that shit for years and it didn’t do anything for me but fuck my stomach up.
There was actually a study done that found higher cases of Crohns and Colitis in patients that first took antibiotics (cyclines specifically) and then took accutane. When I started accutane, i was getting very alarming GI symptoms, I attribute this to staying on antibiotics for too long and then doing accutane. Actually had to cut my accutane cycle short. It still worked though.
OP, there’s a few people on some acne forums that will agree with me (there was a good write up on this somewhere, can’t find it). Stay away from antibiotics and instead just do a cycle of accutane and be done with it. You don’t want to wait and for it to get worse.
Anyways, I personally am perfectly healthy now (except for the scars lol). I just make sure to eat fermented foods when I can. Homemade kimchi, kefir, etc.
Edit found it:

The Dangers and Ineffectiveness of Antibiotics for Acne

Potential association between the oral tetracycline class of antimicrobials used to treat acne and inflammatory bowel disease - PubMed
Tetracycline class antibiotics, and particularly doxycycline use may be associated with the development of IBD, particularly CD. Potential confounding by previous doxycycline exposure should be considered when assessing whether treatment with other acne medications increases the risk of IBD.

I can’t find the study that showed a much higher risk when antibiotics and accutane were combined but I do remember reading it.
