how to know if the growth plates are closed?

Most people get an x-ray of their hand and wrist.

From this they can determine not only whether your plates are open/closed, but your bone age too.

If you're not willing to do all that, just look at how much you've been growing for the past couple years.

If your growth rate is slowing down, then it's likely you're getting closer to having closed plates. If you haven't grown at all in the past year or so, it's likely they're already closed.

Hope this helped, mark as solution if it did :Comfy:

I read that ur hands growth ends before 12-18 months of actual height stops
Wrist is still accurate.

If your wrists plates are closed you don't have much left to grow anyway.

But to be sure you could get a knee x-ray done.

Doctors just do the wrist x-ray because it's low radiation, amongst other reasons.

Yes, it's usually accurate unless you have asynchronous growth patterns. Humans naturally grow from the outward in which is why femur/spine are typically the last parts of growth left in this 12-18 month window
