Perfect handshake technique will give you an advantage in job interviews and you will receive more respect at social events.
1)Firm Grip
Only crush their hand if they're your friend as a joke. Don't give a weak grip either, you still want to squeeze a little bit. Too hard is better than too soft because it's better to be feared than laughed at.
2)Hand positioning
The webbing between your thumb and index finger should touch the other person's. Shaking someone's fingers looks very timid and feminine.
3)Arm entry angle
If you consider someone your equal then your arm should be parallel to theirs when shaking. If they're inferior then you want your arm to come down to meet theirs so it looks like you are literally higher up than them socially.
4)Eye contact
It's a sign of weakness to look at the hand during a handshake. Make sure you stare their eyes down to let them know their place.

At a social event hold your drink in your left hand so you are ready to handshake because most people use their right hand.
