For those who don't know, the Mew indicator line is a great tool to measure ones level of recession, and also to measure your progress.

Basically, you measure from the bottom of your upper incisors to the furthest tip of your nose in millimeters. As you can see, adult male ideal scores are from 38-44 mm while females are 36-42 mm (to accommodate smaller female dentition).

This accurately measures how much recession is present and how much you need to advance. Best way to do this is to hold the ruler next to your teeth, and take a picture.

What is your Mew indicator line score?

What if you have a good maxilla but a bigger nose like Gandy or opry? Wouldn’t that affect the measurement?

i think this is a good way to tell if your recessed but not so good for telling if you have changes anything outside of orthagnagic surgery you’re gonna get changes in only a few mms which is a really small length to try and maintain precision to judge change with

im like 46-47mm

You really should make another thread like this
Thread about testing your bones and stuff
Do you mean testing to know if you have ideal bone lengths or measurements? And how to check them?

I dont know about ideal, but just test to see if you are not recessed or whatever
Like the midface taste, but for bones
What Im trying to say is: this thread is unique(!!!!!!!) and we NEED unique threads

Not even 40, even with my big nose. This is turbo cope, cuz my under eye area clearly says I have recessed maxilla, at least the upper part.

50mm

Lower part of maxilla goes forward
Upper part (undereye, zygo) is recessed

It's over

That's weird I never got a notification that you tagged me.
Anyway solid thread.

But this test isn't ideal for everyone.

-Those with an aquiline nose or an overly large nose with a curved downwards tip will have skewed results/measurements.

-or people who have the typical negroid skull with extreme lower maxillary prognathism

what if my upper incisors are a lot bigger than the rest of my teeth?

48-49mm or so, omg i have a lot of room to shorten my midface even with a decent midface ratio

The girl in the OP has an overjet. If her teeth were straighter the number would be much greater.
