some say in the middle of the eyebrows, some at the level of the eyelids. Even scientific research is incomprehensible (or else Im just low qi)

This is correct, since the eyebrows are part of your upper third measuring from there would be illogical. PM me pics I'll solve it for you.

True, but even that changes if a person has very hooded eyes you can't really see where the upper eyelids begin

You measure from the top of the palpebral fissure height, which is either the upper eyelid or the upper hooding depending on eyeshape.
