Calluses are a badge of honor

Lifting with gloves is incredibly gay and changing your grip to hold bars in your fingers and not palm sounds super retarded jfl

If you use lotion a lot they won’t be as dry and annoying

Why You should waries about calluses? You are not a woman. Just not deathchoke the bar and moisturize your hands to avoid worst calluses. A bit of callus may look roughed and masculine.

Wear some gloves. Fuck the morons who say that shit isn't masculine... if having fucked up disgusting hands is masculine then I don't want to be masculine.

The problem I have with these calluses that literally peel my skin off is that during the gym it’s taking away from my productivity I’m feeling the burning in my skin and even after the gym depending on the size it legit burns to hold anything

Oh right that will stop happening eventually once they’re more developed. Had the same problem for a bit when I started but completely forgot about that

Its not retarded, you grip it with your fingers then close your palm for support, but most of the weight will be on your fingers. It's all about positioning

I dont mean lift with an open hand jfl that would be retarded

no

I mean like this

grip the bar with your fingers not your palm
Also I noticed that when I used this grip that you’re suggesting the amount of leverage I had decreased making it harder to lift more etc. this may get some time getting used to or I’m just doing it wrong

look under the bench press

maybe you will find out there

Once they get thicker you won't have that problem just don't peel them.

For me it doesn't make a difference, I lift the same weight either way

I’ll maybe consider this because it’s an actual pain ngl but I’ve been increasing my intensity and weight and getting more calluses. Maybe as I keep getting more my skin will get thicker and I won’t need them. I’m not really worried about how my hands would look just the pain is not optimal

Try it
How does that not weaken your grip though? I mean if you’re using straps I suppose it doesn’t matter but I try to avoid bringing out the straps until I need to cause forearms and shit

I think you’ve been doing it for a while maybe you have increased strength in your fingers if that’s even a thing

MAJORITY of people.dont use proper grip, they grip the bar in their palms, not hook in their fingers and base it on palm.

until I was 25 I used to.do it like that too.

OP if the calluses are bad, whatever u do, dont peel them, clip them with a nail clipper

Yeah I never remove calluses that increases pain tremendously, I’ll research proper grip

I had the same probleme when I did psysicall labor for the first timr, with tine they will heal and will not get worse. Use the finger grip and stop chocking the life out of bare, use weight You could efective perform a perfect rep with IT. And of course use gloves if is regresing your progress, nothing wrong with that.

There are some pads that you can put on and remove easily and you can only use them for deadlifts and take them off after. Gives you a better grip for deadlifts as well
