how to take advatange of elastics on braces

sup yall i just got elastics on my braces and tbh my bite isn’t so bad but does anyone know a way to take advantage of them to pull my mandible or maxilla forward for maximum growth??? or should i use them as prescribed??

i literally asked my dentist lmao he said i wont get elastics , i have braces
