How to use mascara for lashes without looking gay

So I stole my cousin’s mascara from her room and I have mid lashes, they are decently long but my bottom lashes are thin af, would using slight mascara be a soft maxx for whenever I go out? I don’t really know how to use it. I just know dark lashes are a halo

I like to use vasiline on my eyelashes as my eyelashes are brown and the vasiline makes them look darker and when I curl them it makes the shape stay. I like using this rather than mascara because it makes my lashes darker, without making me look gay. I just but some on an old mascara brush (cleaned of course) then I work it onto my eyelashes before curling them. Curling lashes is good becuase it can make eyes more striking and slightly hide a bit of uue.

My lashes are long and down turned so it makes my canthal tilt look bad from far away
