As a civilization, humanity is currently a few centuries from the peak of mount stupid. You have all sorts of scientists declaring what will be possible and what never will be despite not knowing jack shit about the universe other than some simple math equations that sort of explain some specific situations and having messed around with some chemical and cells for a century or two. Then you have all these idiots who think they know how society ought to be run and not even thinking to look back on the fact that their same exact mistakes have been repeated ad nauseum. The world only looks simple because we aren't able to see how complex it really is.
This is what enrages me most about modern society. Its so obnoxiously arrogant. I wish people could have some humility and realize that as a species we are really ignorant. Actually gaining real knowledge will take a lot of time and hard work, and it isn't something that will happen over night.
