People like to talk nonsense about muh our ancestors

Humans ate what was available to them

Our ancestors in cold climates weren't eating a lot of fruits because they weren't available

But humans are still a tropical species. And that is where we would and should be eating large quantities of fruit. Obviously everything got fucked up by overpopulation, but eat mostly fruitarian, like chimpanzees

humans are opportunistic omnivores, can eat basically anything except for tree bark and literal poison
jfl at thinking primitive humans followed a "diet" they literally just ate whatever was in front of them that didnt kill them

That was basically my post
But humans are a tropical species and thus we should eat like one. Which means plenty of fruits

The amount of evidence suggesting that we adapted to eat meat is too strong for this to be completely true, but yes, simple sugars are incredibly important, especially for cognition.

Don’t tell this to the raw carnivore diet fags

they're too dumb to understand that being omnivore increases survival chances in nature
So many unauthentic “medical doctors” and “physicists” on social media promoting these kinds of mostly meat based diets these days, as a result the average social media user gets easily influenced by these grifters and trends due to a lack of understanding of evolutionary biology and nutrition

Chimpanzees also eat meat
Less than 2% of their diet
Plus insects
But mostly plant foods

But we aren't chimpanzees, we just share a common ancestor with other primates

we adapted to be more omnivorish so we could eat basically anything

A chimp could probably eat as much meat as us if it had to
It's not about what our body "needs" or is capable of eating. It's about what's available. Just because humans in high latitudes got used to eating more meat because less other stuff was available, and that has led to a cultural shift across the world, doesn't mean that's what it should be

We have a different digestive system compared to the ones of other apes, ours tapers downwards signaling a smaller digestive tract and we have reduced gut volume, this anatomical adaptation supports the expensive tissue hypothesis which states that a metabolic trade-off happened in humans, the reduction in gut size compensates for the exceptionally high demand of energy that the brain has, it consumes around 20% of our resting energy despite comprising only 2% of body weight, this was possible due to eating easier to digest foods such as simple sugars found in fruits, milk and honey, meat and especially cooked meat
