I actually agree with this forum Body Dysmorphia = being self aware about an ugly trait that needs to be fixed, its not mental illness

"Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), occasionally still called dysmorphophobia, is a mental disorder characterized by the obsessive idea that some aspect of one's own body part or appearance is severely flawed and therefore warrants exceptional measures to hide or fix it. In BDD's delusional variant, the flaw is imagined. If the flaw is actual, its importance is severely exaggerated"

I actually feel therapists and psychologists are grossly gaslighting their patients by labelling this as a mental disorder and stating that certain faults are "imagined" or "Severely exaggerated". I feel its your subconscious telling you that you have an unattractive trait that needs to be fixed or your social standing/survival will be jeopardised.

Your mind is completely aware of the importance of your looks in society, its funny how BDD is mostly in the "facial" region. Which is in line that face= everything.

You fix the fault to a standard that your mind is happy with, BDD dissapears.

BDD is when you have a failio AND enough self-awareness to realize how it effects your life negatively tbh
Best way is just trying to fix it instead of obsessing over it without doing anything

People with BDD usually are ugly, the reason it’s considered as a mental disorder is because they realize they are ugly then become complete shut-ins and stop going to school or work. So it’s the knowledge of being ugly that is ruining their life, they are too mentally weak for blackpill so they go to therapy.

The way normies deal with BDD is "Noooo you're beautiful just the way you are! Teehee" and when they don't accept that philosophy, they are given antidepressants that ruin their brains.

Getting surgery to fix an obvious flaw you are not happy with > coping with muh therapy

Spot on. The large majority of people claiming BDD are not mentally ill.

I myself used to be someone with real BDD. As an example I found myself having a haircut every 3 days because I thought that the hair growth acquired during this time was making me already look unkept. Or checking the mirror once, maybe you like how it looks. But you check again, and again, and again throughout the whole day until eventually you notice that you suddenly look different...

That was BDD.

And I overcame it anyway. I overcame it all by embracing the blackpill with open arms.

I used to be in multiple groups of BDD. Almost all of them are coping:

- " I am 4 inches and I don't feel comfortable during intimacy. I HAVE BODY DYSMORPHIC DISORDER AND I AM MENTALLY ILL. "

- " I'm a foid weight 250 lbs. I overcame my BDD by starting to date a really handsome guy. But now he left me and my BODY DYSMORPHIC IS STARTING TO SHOW UP AGAIN"

- " I am 35 yo short, bald, ugly, broken, fat and NEET. This BODY DYSMORPHIC DISORDER IS DESTROYING MY LIFE"

There are some people who at some point looked good but declined and show certain signs of blackpill because they notice the difference but they are unable to get better because of how bluepilled everyone is.

I got ostetriced for suggesting a guy to work out and use testosterone when he was complaining about clear signs of low T ( Too skinny and no facial hair at 30). I left all groups after that and did never come back. I don't need it. I don't need anything. The only thing I truly needed all long was looksmax and looking better.

If any of you regularly don't go in public due to your self-perceived looks then you probably at least have mild BDD

This thread is legit

But what bdd means is it drastically affecting your life in some way or another like being a recluse

Ugly peoples know their ugly the part where It becomes a problem though is when you literally ostracize yourself and hole yourself up like a hermit inside scared of the world

Its called A disorder for a reason if it drastically affects your way of living due to your BEHAVIOR

What you are describing is Social Anxiety derived from BDD / being too self conscious and inferior that you refuse going out.

1 year ago I was a heightmaxxing cel. I felt so so tiny although my perceived normal height (1.80). I couldn't even go out I probably have tons of rants about it. But unironically after I started to use my 4 inches lifts this was all suddenly gone. I never knew what social anxiety is ever again.

So honestly, many people are struggling and although it might be considered some type of mental illness it doesn't disregard the fact that improving your looks is an infinitely more effective, kinda permanent solution than this self deluding therapy and popping up pills.

I never argued against improving your looks I’m all for it

my main thing is it’s a disorder when you can’t even live a normal due to how much the bdd affects You

so many ugly af people still working and living life who don’t have it

I know.

There are multiple reasons as to why uglier folks enjoy more life than someone who might look somewhat better starting from their brain chemistry and the level of success achieved to meet their own personal needs when interacting with the environment

A landwhale might be happy somewhere in this world with his chubby gf eating pizza and some shitty job. They had decent bluepilled parents and never experienced any major hardship.
His needs are being met. So he is happy.

The reason why us looksmaxxers are so unhappy is because we strive for greatness and our needs can be meet only after achieving this. You might want to look extremely good male model level 6ft4 10 inches. So you are unhappy :feelsokman: because your needs are being 7 psl and fuck giga stacies :feelsohh: and you are obviously not doing it just rotting on this forum :feelshmm:

We cannot live life being that landwhale I'm talking about. This means that we are not meeting our needs, and that's because of looks. This will jeopardize your brain chemistry. Develop BDD, SA, and what not...

There's only one path to follow and is improving in all ways. Unless you manage to downgrade your life expectations and desires and feel comfortable with whatever you currently have.
