After buying the Omega speed master, a Cartier Santos. I'm done purchasing expensive heritage watches from Swiss brands. The cost to satisfaction ratio is not there for me to justify brutalizing my wallet every time. I still love those watches and wear them regularly. You buy these kind of watches to mark major life events. Like I got my speedy when I graduated out of high school. Santos at the end of my uni and wore it for my farewell. I wanted my farewell watch to be a Rolex land dweller but I got kicked out of the dealership for not having a purchase history made a thread about it. Still in the waiting list btw

So instead of jumping through all that loopholes I have decided to take my endeavours into mid range watches. Which will start with this order of citizen zenshin. Available in stock. No interrogation like I'm applying for Schengen Visa, no sorry sir you don't have a purchase history. No waiting list. Just in stock. It's arriving next week. I'm excited

You should learn how to put together your own watches from parts. Ive read about it before but haven't tried, not that into watches, it seems affordable but also really cool since you get exactly what you want and get to mix stuff. And it gives a new life to any broken watches you find for cheap that are otherwise expensive

Never understood luxurycels tbh. If I had a bunch of money to piss away I'd spend it on shit that actually makes a meaningful difference (i.e a nice car, high quality tech, hardmaxxing, etc). Never understood this mentality of buying stuff just because it's expensive

Generally people collect for some deeply personal reasons. I started my watch collection because of a gift that my dad gave me

The most I’ve spent on a watch was 350€ for a tissot. I can’t imagine spending close to 10k for a Cartier santos :dafuckfeels:
