I got rabies like a day ago and couldnt drink water. I posted in subreddit r/askdoc, they said i need to go to hospital because i might have rabies.

Went to hospital after my condition worsening (approx 2 hrs ago), they did a test and i really have rabies. They instantly transferred me to emergency ward and got me rabies vaccine.

The doc told my mom that if i am lucky, i will survive rabies because the vaccines only have 60%. Chance of working and that too only after 1 hr of getting rabies but i got it after a day. He couldnt give real approximation. Ofc he didnt tell it to my face bc he didnt want to worry, he told me "u will b fine" but my mother face was saying smth else.

Anyway guys, i am dying , AMA

I am very happy man, so the private hospital told me that my tests came out completely fine. I just lack Iron. They told me i couldnt swallow because i am suffering from dysphagia which will go away on its own in a week InshAllah.


For my parents assurance, they did another test from another hospital and it turned out clean aswell. But i will do another test again for the 3rd time to confirm it.

I sometimes wish that governments could do something about non-private healthcare. Our country's system is in a mess right now and too many people are dying unnecessarily.

Too many people are being sent back home with mild diagnoses but the reality hits when their cancer or illness has advanced into something more sinister. There needs to be better screening and awareness of such illnesses so they can be caught in their early stages.
