I am mirin how good apple has become

Not really man. These days because of complex CPU architecture designs it's hard to tell. Some have weak core, strong cores, efficiency cores all that shit. Their naming schemes also suck balls. You just have to do your research it's not like good old days when performance was based on the how big the number was. Like i5,i7 Ryzen 5, 7 etc
I too remember that time when the bigger the number the better the electronic equipment
The proportionality law hold true during the good old days
Now it's complicated having different cores threads
Whatsoever

CoD, R6, Borderlands, GD, and Doom. Only time I get frame drops or crashes is when testing out extreme settings, I usually just choose the balanced settings and my VRAM usage is more than ideal.
Have you seen the new borderlands 4 gameplay?

Yeah, my buddy has it. I was actually pretty surprised at how much smaller this one was compared to Borderlands 3. Still managed to deliver a pretty visually pleasing game though.

I sometimes wonder how non tech cels understand this shit tbh. Like if you told someone who doesn't have a CS degree he'd no idea what 3D V cache or efficiency cores even means. It would sounds like marketing buzzwords when they are not. This on best buy they have labels like "good for gaming" or "good for multitasking" etc
JFL totally agree with this

Ngl tho I think most of the normie consumers genuinely have no idea what theyโ€™re buying and just do it bc someone told them it was a good purchase. This Is probably good for us tho, if everyone was high IQ/agency it would be impossible to stand out.

Doesn't really have anything to do with IQ, just not that important for normies. They want something which performs tasks quickly and conveniently. A good price tag, UI, and marketing is all they need to know.

Would a high IQ person not spend an hour to understand the $1000 product theyโ€™re potentially going to buy? Perhaps Iโ€™m conflating IQ and agency, although you need a high baseline IQ to understand these types of products regardless.

Yes lol. Plenty of normies research the things they're potentially going to buy especially when it passes the $500 mark. I think IQ is way too overhyped in this community. You could have a perfectly average IQ and still make good decisions.

And just to add, IQ is completely unrelated to niche knowledge. What you know is what you know, IQ is merely an influence on your learning curve and capacity. You could have a genius IQ and know nothing about tech, and still make decisions based off of nothing other than what you've heard.

Sometimes knowing too much can be brutal to your wallet. You think you are future proofing when all you are doing is wasting money on shit you don't need or will never use

Certainly true, but average iq people tend to make a lot more bad decisions.

Yeah Iโ€™m not debating the niche knowledge issue. You canโ€™t expect people to know things they donโ€™t care about. However IQ is certainly correlated with agency, and that trait is what will push someone to make good decisions like understanding things you buy. Yet from observing ppl around me, it seems extremely rare for any avg or low iq ppl to display this trait, which leads me to believe they donโ€™t have the knowledge to make good purchasing decisions.

Get a neo and save your money tbh. Only buy pro if you really need it. Even air is overkill for many people.

i am also considering neo but i would like a bigger screen or 120HZ.

I prefer to sit back when working on a laptop and a bigger screen makes things easier to see from further away

I would buy something refurbished or older for a steal deal instead of new but you can't go wrong either way. Just buy something with m series and enough storage and you should be good
