Yes...I did hundreds of approaches but most of these were in "warm" environments - in college, activity clubs, at parties, in social circles, etc. so it wasn't weird starting to chat with girls. Bars and nightclubs are also a good option, since girls go there expecting for guys to hit on them.
I only did a few approaches in "cold" environments like on the streets during the day, in parks, malls, supermarkets, libraries, etc. and they all ended with brutal, awkward rejections. If you aren't a Chad, don't do this, it's simply weird...
