There is literature about it. Thousands perhaps millions of verses of poems have been written in praise of "silver bodied" young boys in Iranian literature alone.

Of course the school system tells people they are all about love of God and not earthly love. And coping Iranians who haven't read about it tell themselves they are about girls. But in reality they are about young white skinned hairless boys. They are called "shahed" in poems.

In poems since they aren't direct they can deny it even tho if you think about it it's obvious it's about boys, because they are always describing bows and swords and stuff. But there is direct mention in normal texts too.

These boys were Turkish boys that came to Iran and the Islamic empire as mercenemaries. As they were east and central Asian they had much whiter and fairer skin and much less hair. Muslim men being deprived of both female sexuality and beauty would turn to these boys for pleasure.

Oh yes I’ve read some of these poems before. Many of them refer to their lovers as “moon faced” with “ruby lips” and “ruddy cheeks”. Since Persian isn’t a gendered language, and some of these poems can be quite vague, it is often difficult to exactly tell what the subject of the poem

But yes, boys were definitely the subject of desire. Even today in Iran, they love pretty boys. Their even used to be males houses of prostitution and the state would tax them

Some can also be quite explicit. I read a joke by a famous Iranian poet that went something like:

“A man met his beloved and told him he wanted to sleep with him, the beloved was hesitant and didn’t want to, but the man promised him that he would only use half his member and would be gentle, the beloved eventually accepted…
