idk if many of you know but im a massive cheesefag; i make different kinds of cheeses and dairy preparations very often, but i really like semi hard cheeses.
that kind of cheese is made from raw milk, the bacteria for that specific cheese, and rennet (calf stomach enzyme)
i ran out of rennet last time and cba to get it again, but yesterday me and my father got 6L of raw milk for farmer's cheddar
i left it to ferment overnight, and i put it on the burner for it to curdle, just to remember that im all out of rennet, i tried to switch plans to a fresh acid curdled cheese but the acetic REEKED when it mixed with the lactic acid smell
it curdled super bad and the cheese fucking reeked of old vinegar, never trying tiktokfag recipes again
i had to dump all that shit and buy more raw milk so they wont notice
