lowest row: 38.4pmol/l free testosterone

Now comparing the reference interval (4th column) to values I found on other sites, it looks like this is the reference interval for women or really old men with low t?...

I want to know if I'm in the average range for men or the average range for fucking women jfl. This is a huge psychological difference for me also.

this was one year ago. But if this is the reference range for women I will rope, no joke.

Youre levels are low but not as low as women. And you can raise it.

can you give me some reference ranges? On the reference range from the lab I'm average (yes I know average nowadays is nothing good), but most say that if you're average you're not gonna see much difference when you go on trt, so it's important info for me.

Comparing to the chart I found I'm far far lower than the lower bound for men, actually very close to the female range. But on the reference range given from the lab I'm average?

so I would be at 1/5 of the LOWER bound for free testosterone??? I can deadlift 200kg, I have decent muscle mass, I have a somewhat deep voice, chest and back hair, I wake up with a boner every morning, I really don't think it's possible for it to be this low tbh...

Should I contact the doctor again? But I don't want to sound like a retard, they prolly say reference ranges vary from lab to lab, but that can't be the case here, as the variation is too high. I'm suspecting that they used wrong units, but it's a billion dollar company they can't be this unprofessional... I will ask them to check again if this is indeed the reference range for young men and if it was obtained by testing mostly healthy men.

I finally found a chart that is closer to the levels I have: mine are 3.0ng/dl (and appearently completely average) Even when comparing to 75-80yo my levels are still BELOW the lower bound? How can my test levels be classified as completely normal?

Total/free T isn't everything. I definitely don't look for my natty ~850 ng/dL. You might have great sensitivity to androgens and even mediocre levels serve you well.

but that's the thing, my levels are not mediocre by any standard I found on the internet. They all lie below the lower bound for 80 year olds.

Where's the total T result? Also SHBG? When you're doing those tests you have to go all in. T, fsh, lh, shbg, estradiol, prolactin, dhea and more.

I told my doctor to also test for some sort of female sex hormones like estrogen and estradiol. I also told him to test for hgh (at the time I didn't know that's not directly possible) and he just said, yes we can do that. I think he had no idea what he was doing tbh. And then I got my results back and that was it. The good thing was it was paid by the insurance.

So if he says it's totally in the normal range for men (this could mean compared to older men mainly) should I just not bother with external testosterone? I think I will just try it out (without blood tests) for 2 months and hope my balls go back to their full size when I stop and see if there is any noticeable difference. Apparently blood tests are too complicated.

You're lucky you have that funded by your insurance, I have to pay a ton to do all those tests (and I'm in Europe). Is there a possibility you did those tests once again, but elsewhere or is it your doc that has to prescribe them?

Also never fully trust doctors. Lobotomy used to be a legit procedure back in the days, is it now?

Confusing shit.
I have all the symptoms of super low T (can't seem to put muscle on, A bit skinny fat, weakish voice, can't grow facial hair etc etc), but my Testosterone tests came back relatively high
And other people i've seen look like silverback gorillas and I assume they must be ovoerflowing with T, yet they get diagnosed as having low T

I had a small form of gyno (I think) in my right chest (1cm diameter), it wasn't noticable. I went to my family doctor, and after not even inspecting anything, I got my blood taken and could go home again. that's the way to get those tests for free. Or saying you can't get hard, have low energy, are fat etc. But like that, I couldn't choose which hormones got tested.

well I wasn't diagnosed with low t though, according to the lab, rather with average levels, however their reference ranges are very weird (much lower than anything I found on the internet). Also I'm working my ass off in the gym, so maybe I'm just compensating my low t with a lot of effort and by doing everything else right. If your male relatives have also no facial hair it could be genetic tbh.

How is your frame? Shoulder to hip ratio?

A friend of mine is extremly strong(benches 120kg 3×8) yet he doesnt look like he could bench it and have low t.

Androgen sensitivity and insertions make a big difference to frame. Testosterone is not the only factor.

I have great shoulder width to hip ratio. Not sure about the exact width, but I wear xls and I see that they're always designed for people with considerably narrower shoulders than I have. My shoulder to hip ratio is like 2:1 almost I'd say.

If im not mistaken.

There is a difference someone who always has been on the lower end of the spectrum and someone who had a major drop from for example 800ng/dl to 400ng/dl

Is there a way to low dose test without suppressing yourself?

they just answered me, but I'm sure they didn't look over my test levels again as it was kind of a standard response...

They wrote something like "the reference range has many influences: age, gender, free or total testosterone, measurement unit etc. We check for each patient individually which reference range is suitable.

what should I do now? check my levels again? They say the levels were average, and appearently they accounted for age and gender.

I think I will start my first cycle, take test only maybe and see if my quality of life is greatly improved or not. And it's unlikely I will fuck up my endocrine system with test only at a moderate dose. So if I see no difference I will come off again (with proper pct).

The thing is if your results are within the range they will say youre in the normal range. Even if youre in the bottom half.

look at the image in my first post, I highlighted the range, on the right you see a graphic with a black square, it shows I'm dead average. Now I heard if you're average, trt doses won't give you any benefit.

I was talking about your fsh and lh, theyre in the lower quartile of the reference range. They are what make testosterone. Dont take trt because itll fuck you in the long run.

Geage
Low fsh and lh can indicate Hypogonadism, which is often treated with trt, but that does only make sense if testosterone levels are low, as in the second row there is no option for normal test levels, low fsh and lh.

Also I don't think trt will be a health problem in the long run personally, but obv it's better if evertyhing works without taking external hormones.

there is an interesting treatement, I will ask my doctor about this:
Another treatment for hypogonadism is human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).[20] This stimulates the LH receptor, thereby promoting testosterone synthesis. This will not be effective in men who simply cannot make testosterone anymore (primary hypogonadism) and the failure of hCG therapy is further support for the existence of true testicular failure in a patient. It is particularly indicated in men with hypogonadism who wish to retain their fertility, as it does not suppress spermatogenesis like testosterone replacement therapy does.

What if all you needed was testosterone in puberty
And you didnt have it

I most certainly didn't have enough testosterone in puberty, I can't identify when I look at old fotos of myself, if that's a guy or a girl. It was incredibly brutal for me at the time.

If you start trt your body will stop producing its own t and will become reliant on the external t. You will have to take trt for the rest of your life.

I'm ok with that. Problem is, external testosterone leads to low sperm count and can cause shutdown of sperm production completely. There is treatement by stimulating the Lh receptor, which then leads to higher testosterone indirectly (by stimulating the body own production)

However LH is 3.7 and over 7.0 is appearently also not a good thing, so that value is pretty good rn. FSH is very low though.
