Figured out i'd talk about this here in extreme precision.
There was this new kid who got introduced to my school when I was 11. Let's call him “Adam”. I tried to help Adam make friends, but he was too narcissistic to make anyone become friends with him, so he just ended up thinking we were “best friends” since I was the only one to help him.
I was trying to make a gap between us in recess and in class, but he kept getting back to me somehow as I was the only person who could really bear to talk to him. He was copying my every move and glazing the shit out of me on everything I did, which I guess I liked since I was considered a “quiet kid” and never really got attention other than from my friend group.
My mom ended up meeting Alan’s mother, and they matched hard, talking every day and even getting each other’s numbers. At some point, my mom told me, “Why not invite Alan home? He looks kind of chill, you could do a sleep-over”. I had no confidence back then, so I just said yea, thinking one night isn’t that bad.
