I got trimax 3 months ago with Ramieri in Rome, I said I would do a thread on it so here it is
For the tiktokcels with no attention span here are the unfrauded before/afters from front and side. Bodyfat is more or less the same, maybe 1% difference
THE SURGERY
I got bimax and genio, advanced and downgrafted the maxilla and advanced the mandible linearly. The genio was to add some more projection but mostly vertical height and help with hyoid. I also got ramus widening through condylar torque to widen the gonions.
These were the movements
THE POST-OP RECOVERY
The first week was brutal, worst days of my life by far. First day I vomited blood and kept having nosebleeds mixed with snot every few minutes. I also apparently had one of, if not the strongest reaction in terms of swelling post op that my surgeon had ever seen. I asked for so many painkillers that I apparently went over my allowed quota.
I also slept less than an hour in total for the first 3 days and couldn't touch any food aside from some juice.
For the first 2 weeks post op I would sometimes have pain to my tmjs.
Also I couldn't feel the whole left side of the face up to my temple, and had sharp pains to my left gonion. Later my surgeon told me they cut too far on that side because my bone was too tough. Because of that I had to try and avoid sleeping on that side or I would wake up with some pain to the gonion area for up to a month post op.
Even on painkillers the discomfort from the edema weighing down the face was very annoying. The edema itself got worse during the first 5 days, then after the first week it started disappearing pretty fast and everything became more manageable.
THE MAIN AND SIDE EFFECTS
More projection and wider face due to the condylar torque
Initially I had some mild lip incompetence, it got better during the first month and now it has almost disappeared, but my lips at rest do not fully touch without a slight push from the mentalis
For the first couple of weeks I thought I got dogmaxxed. I got advanced a lot so with the swelling I thought it was too much. Also I thought the chin was overrotated even though I was the one that insisted to rotate it more than initially planned. I don't think that's the case anymore as I'm very satisfied with my final result but I think I would still have been fine with slightly less projection
During the immediate post op I had an asymmetric crossbite. When fully clenching my teeth only my back 2 molars on the left were touching, while I had a gap on the right side that reached 2 mm in some points. The midline was also off by a couple mm. I had to put on elastics to fix all of these, and I still have them on
I had almost no sensation on the left side of my face up to my temple in the first days post op, it slowly came back over the first 2 weeks. I also had no sensation in my palate but it came back in a similar timeline. Instead I had almost full sensation in my lips and lower face immediately after
The inner part of my left gonion is split/cracked because they cut too far but it isn't painful and doesn't seem to be giving me any problems aside from some popping sounds when chewing
Both the genio and the bsso have a step off which you can't see that clearly but I can feel when touching the bones. It was worse for the first 1/2 months but now it's not really noticeable anymore
I got some more gum show when smiling compared to before, probably because of the genio
I had asymmetric relapse of the condylar torque, one side of my jaw now looks a little more inward than the other, depending on the angles
Ogee curve was worse than before for the first couple of months, now it's better
Lost more than 10kg, almost all of it muscle because of not eating much nor training
THE SURGEON
Valerio Ramieri, don't think I need to say much on him, he's one of the most famous on here. I will say that he is truly a good person though. Even during the first week when my life was hell he went out of his way to help me calm down, scheduling extra exams and keeping a close eye on me. He's probably as blackpilled as a surgeon in his position can get, both in terms of looks and mentality. Here's proof
FINAL THOUGHTS
If you're considering getting bimax yourself do NOT get it during allergy season as I did, or you'll regret it during the first week.
Despite that though I'm satisfied with the results, aesthetically speaking I'm much better than before, I would say I went from ltn to mtn. Bimax is overrated on here, it won't make anyone chad but it does help a lot if you're a candidate for it. I will most likely get filler next year to enhance the results, as the widening wasn't enough and my face is now much longer than it is larger.
I have noticed different treatment than before during day to day life, mostly people doing more double takes as I go around and random people being more kind to me. Could be that I'm paying more attention to those behaviours though. I do work with the public so quite a few people that I hadn't seen for a while since before the bimax complimented me on my appearance. Here's my personal favourites I've got until now:
"You look more chad"
"Your new look is awesome, keep it up"
"You look taller, have you lost weight?"
Also my barber asked me to take photos of my cut after he was done. I got the same cut as the last 5 times I've been there, and he never asked me before. The marketing office at work also asked me to be in a few photos/marketing material.
Since idk what else to say, I'll add a few more pics where I think the results look good as well as the before and after CT scans. If you want to know anything else AMA.
